Trio set to return for Burton clash
Town boss Paul Lambert could be boosted by the returning trio of Luke Garbutt, Gwion Edwards and Teddy Bishop ahead of this weekend’s clash with Burton Albion.
Garbutt has missed the last two games at Sunderland and AFC Wimbledon after picking up a thigh strain in the defeat to Peterborough earlier this month.
When asked about the on-loan Everton man, Lambert told the club website: “Luke’s injury wasn’t as bad as first feared. He will train today and we will see how he is but he has a chance.
“I’ve been really happy with his performances. He’s scored goals and got a few assists as well. His delivery from set-pieces is terrific so if he’s available, that gives us another weapon.
Regarding Bishop, who has missed the last few squads with a knee injury, Lambert added: “Teddy trained yesterday and we will see how he is. It’s been stop-start again for him. He’s had a lot of injury problems over the last three years but has worked hard to get back.
“Everyone can see the boy has ability and he provides something different but he can’t do that sitting in the stands.
“That’s the challenge to Teddy now; he needs be fit and playing games week in, week out over the rest of this season, and next year and the one after that.”
One player who looks certain to return to the team is Gwion Edwards. The former Peterborough man picked up his tenth booking of the season and has sat out the last two games with Janoi Donacien deputising.
