Town U18s 5 v 0 Brighton U18s
Adam Atay’s and Kieron Dyer’s U18s started pre-season in style with a 5-0 win over Brighton this afternoon.
The Blues fielded two different teams in the first and second half, a mixture of first and second year scholars.
Viral opened the scoring on 5 minutes when Curtis centred for Viral to slot home from seven yards underneath the Brighton keeper.
In the 35th minute, Town broke from a Brighton attack and a ball over the top saw Curtis one on one with the Brighton keeper finishing in the far corner of the net.
Town had the chance to go 3-0 up when Oppong was pulled back by the Brighton defender giving Curtis the chance to score from the penalty spot. The Brighton keeper guessed correctly and dived to his right and saved the penalty.
Town did manage to get the third before the break, Gibbs set up Viral to double his tally by tapping into the open net from three yards.
In the 64th minute, Curtis had a close range shot saved by the Brighton keeper but Bello was there on hand to tap in the rebound.
The scoring was completed in the 77th minute when Mesuria was put through by Reed and finished well to ensure an empathic start to pre-season for the U18s.
