Town player named in FourFourTwo’s current top 50 EFL players

Town striker James Norwood has been named 34th in FourFourTwo’s top 50 players outside the Premier League.

FourFourTwo magazine’s annual rankings, included in the latest issue, are based on supporter feedback, with Town striker Norwood our only representative in the top 50.

The former Tranmere striker has scored 11 goals so far in his debut season for Town, a total which he has even admitted himself should be higher. Breaking down the top 50, Norwood was actually ranked fifth for players in the third tier.

The highest representative from League One comes from Posh forward, Ivan Toney, who is ranked 14th in the standings. Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has the claim of being the best player outside the Premier League, finishing in first place in the poll.

The magazine also compiled a list of players who were unfortunate to just miss out on the top 50, with former Blue Daryl Murphy given an honourable mention.

It came to much surprise that neither Flynn Downes or Luke Woolfenden were mentioned in the article, but let’s hope the clubs take a long at the list before deciding who to sign this summer?!
