Town linked with Bury defender Adam Thompson
According to EADT, Town are one of a number of clubs eyeing a move for Bury defender Adam Thompson.
The former Southend defender is set to be available on a free transfer after informing Bury of his decision to terminate his contract at Gigg Lane, in the wake of the club’s well-documented financial problems.
The 26-year-old, who has also played at right-back during his career, alongside Danny Mayor who was linked to Town before moving to Plymouth, was one of Bury’s best performers during the club’s promotion from League Two last season.
Town currently only have two senior centre-backs in Luke Chambers and Toto Nsiala, backed up by youngsters Luke Woolfenden and Corrie Ndaba. Paul Lambert is keen to add more experience to his defence with Thompson fitting the bill.
