Town in FA Youth Cup action at Portman Road

With no first team fixture this weekend it will be all eyes on Town’s U18s as they take on Exeter at Portman Road on Saturday (kicking off 14:00).

Town knocked out King’s Lynn in thr first round of the FA Youth Cup with a 6-1 win last week, with goals from Connor O’Reilly, Tyreece Simpson, Zak Brown (2), Colin Oppong and Allan Viral .

U18 manager Adem Atay is looking forward to the game, telling the Club website: “We are all looking forward to Saturday’s game.

“We obviously want to go as far as we can in the competition but the ultimate goal for our Academy is to see players develop here and eventually reach the first-team. And not just reach the first-team but stay there.

“For everyone involved in the Academy, it was rewarding to see so many young players given their chance by the manager during the week.

“The challenge for the boys now – like all our young players here – is to maintain their development and in time to become players who consistently compete at first-team level.”

Tickets are priced at £3 adults and £1 juniors and will be on sale at the turnstiles. The East of England Co-op Stand will be in use only with gates opening at 13:15.
