Town duo join Hemel Hempstead

Town pair Bailey Clements and Corrie Ndaba have joined Hemel Hempstead on a month’s loan.

The duo, both graduates of Blues’ Academy, could make their debuts against Braintree Town in the National League South on Saturday.

Clements has one senior appearance for Town, making his debut in the Carabao Cup defeat to Luton this season while Ndaba has yet to play for the first-team.

Ndaba had previously agreed a deal to join Chelmsford City but the move was blocked due to a winding up order against the Vanarama South side.

Meanwhile, Town have had a look at Histon’s teenage defender Alfie Lawrence.

“Alfie was superb,” said Key to Cambridgeshire Live. “He’d just come back from training for two days with Ipswich Town, went straight into our side and despite being tired didn’t put a foot wrong.

“Ipswich said they liked what they saw and would get back to him, but you just don’t know what will happen. But if he continues to play the way he has been, it won’t only be Ipswich looking at him.

“He’s only 16 years old and I’m pencilling him into our first team squad. In fact, the youngsters who we’ve been playing in the Trophy have all given me selection headaches”.
