TOTT Ratings – Holy justifies return with penalty save

TOTT takes a look at the performances as Town and Blackpool draw 0-0 at Portman Road.

Tomas Holy

Holy was recalled to the starting lineup for the top of the table clash and justified his manager’s faith in him. A frustrating evening would have got a lot worse had the giant ‘keeper not saved Joe Jacobson’s 88th minute penalty.

TOTT Rating – 9

Janoi Donacien

Not has involved as previously, Donacien played more of a wing back than full back against Wycombe. With Lambert confirming Vincent-Young will be out for a while, Donacien is set to keep his role in the side. Should have been sent off after horrific challenge in build up to the Wycombe penalty.

TOTT Rating – 6

Luke Woolfenden

Part of a three man defence tasked to keep quiet Akinfenwa, Woolfenden was solid enough on the night. Picked up a harsh booking whilst complaining to the referee late in the second half.

TOTT Rating – 6

Luke Chambers

The emotion from the skipper when he put Town into the lead was there for all to see. A real travesty the goal for chalked off. Conceding late penalty when committing a professional foul, the contact was outside the box so perhaps should have also been sent off.

TOTT Rating – 6

Luke Garbutt

A disappointing night for Garbutt. His left foot is usually so reliable but he spurned so many set plays which let Wycombe off the hook.

TOTT Rating – 6

James Wilson

Some misplaced first half passes by the former Lincoln man playing left of a back three. Improved after the break with the ball and was his usual solid self defensively.

TOTT Rating – 6

Emyr Huws

Quiet game in midfield for Huws, who replaced Downes in the team against Wycombe. More minutes for the Welshman who tailed off as the game went on.

TOTT Rating – 6

Cole Skuse

Making his 250th Town league start, Skuse was very effective in midfield. Often picking up the loose balls which were fired up to Akinfenwa and starting the Blues on the attack.

TOTT Rating – 7

James Norwood

Great to see him back in the side and Town always look a better side with him. Unlucky not to make contact with a Jackson cross early in the game. Norwood then let his frustration get the better of him and was booked in the aftermath of the Chambers goal. That booking will mean he will now sit out the Coventry league game, a week on Saturday.

TOTT Rating – 6

Jon Nolan

While not as effective as Saturday, Nolan’s first half shot clearly hit the hand of Joe Jacobson which was not given. Booked in the first half for a late tackle on Matt Bloomfield.

TOTT Rating – 6

Kayden Jackson

So nearly got an assist when crossing for strike partner Norwood early in the game. Jackson was then deemed heavily involved in the crucial moment. Was he offside? No. Was it handball? No. Jackson continued to run channels and stretch the Wycombe defence with little joy.
