Tommy Smith linked with Championship move

Former Town defender Tommy Smith has been linked with a move to Championship club Huddersfield Town according to The Telegraph.

Smith, 29, left Ipswich Town in January 2018 to move to America and join MLS outfit Colorado Rapids. Now, with his deal set to come to an end in the New Year, he has returned to England and has been training with Town’s U23s.

Last week Paul Lambert played down any move for the New Zealand international, claiming to be more than happy with his current defensive options.

TOTT understands that Smith still wants to play at the highest level possible and wants a move to the Championship. Although Town seem Championship bound (hopefully), after a meeting Smith’s agent and the club last week wages were also an issue.
