Rochdale game postponed
Town’s game against Rochdale scheduled for Saturday, 7 September has been postponed because of Blues’ international commitments.
The match will now be played on Tuesday, 5 November with kick-off at 7.45pm.
There are no games in the Premier League or Championship on the weekend of 7 and 8 September as it’s a designated ‘international week’ but a full fixture list remains in place for League One and League Two.
Town have reached the three-player call-up tipping point, though, which means the Club have the option to postpone the game under EFL rules and that has been taken up.
Anthony Georgiou, on loan from Tottenham, has been named in Cyprus’ squad for their Euro 2020 qualifiers at home to Kazakhstan on 6 September and in San Marino three days later while Armando Dobra has been included in the U19 squad for Albania for their two friendlies against Bosnia and Herzegovina on 7 September and two days later.
Idris El Mizouni has been called into the Tunisia U23 squad for their Africa Cup of Nations games against Cameroon while Alan Judge is in the provisional Republic of Ireland squad for their Euro 2020 qualifiers against Switzerland on 5 September and Bulgaria four days later.
In addition, England’s U20 side have games against Holland and Switzerland, which could include Flynn Downes and Andre Dozzell.
Paul Lambert did suggest last week that the game would be postponed, which is now the case.
Town’s home game against Wycombe on Saturday, 12 October and the trip to Oxford on 16 November also clash with international weeks.
