Roberts nets double and El Mizouni makes his Cambridge bow

Jordan Roberts opened up his Gillingham account at Rochdale on Saturday, scoring both goals in a 2-2 draw.

Roberts moved to Gillingham earlier in the month, has started all three league games for Steve Evans’ side and has now scored two goals since his move to the Gills.

Meanwhile, Idris El Mizouni made his Cambridge United debut on Saturday, coming on in a 1-1 draw at Morecambe. The young Town playmaker came on with five minutes remaining at The Globe Arena.

El Mizouni made the temporary switch to Cambridge earlier this week, someone manager Colin Calderwood was quick to snap up after being made available by Town.

“When we found out about the possibility of a loan for him, we moved swiftly. Had he have been out there for another day or so, numerous other clubs would have jumped in. He’ll add to our attacking threat – he has an athleticism to go with his footballing ability.” Calderwood told Cambridge Official Website.
