Reports: Birmingham in Jackson talks

Birmingham City are in talks to sign Town striker Kayden Jackson in a deal worth over £2.5m.

That is accroding to Football Insider, are keen to add the striker to their ranks are prepared to offer more than waht Bournemouth had rejected last week.

The offer which was rebuffed by Town was understood to be nearer the £1m as opposed to the £2m fee which Football Insider reported.

However, with Birmingham now understood to be offering more than the bid on the table from Bournemouth, the deal could be more appealing to Mracus Evans.

Birmingham were previously linkied with a move with Jackson ealrier this summer, follwoing the 26-year-old turning down a new deal with Town.

Despite the former Accrington man turning down a new deal, there is no rush to sell last season’s joint top scorer as Town hold an option to extend his deal beyond next summer until 2022.

Jackson featured in more games than any other Town player last season, scoring an unbeaten 11 goals while registering seven assists.

The striker has missed all three of Town’s games so far this season due to a groin problem..
