Ratings – Not great reading this as Town are dumped out of the cup

Tomas Holy – 5

Almost got an assist to his name after sending early ball through to Jackson. Not really at fault for either goal although maybe could have got down quicker for the opener.

Barry Cotter – 4

Not the best of nights for Cotter who was withdrawn at half time. Both Coventry goals were from his area of the pitch, looked promising going forward, very questionable defensively.

Luke Woolfenden- 5

Not his usual dominant self, got in a mix up with Huws with Nsiala bailing him out with superb block. Second half he was the one trying to drive Town forward but damage already done.

Toto Nsiala – 5

Recovered from his hamstring injury to start, Nsiala had a solid enough game without being spectacular. Good block in the first half to delay Coventry opener, unfortunately it was delayed for long.

Myles Kenlock – 5

Started at left back and then moved into a left centre half position after the break. Can’t fault his want for trying but not good enough on the ball. Some good last ditch defending when Town searched for late equaliser.

Alan Judge – 5

Very nearly recused the tie for Town but his half volley scissor kick sailed over from Luke Garbutt’s late corner. Wet, windy, very little football played, hard for Judge to make much of an impact.

Emyr Huws – 4

Very disappointing night from Huws. At what stage do we start judging his performances rather than just hoping he gets through the games? Completely over ran in the midfield and struggle to land a punch on his Coventry counterparts.

Cole Skuse – 5

Struggling in the midfield two, Skuse tried to get hold of the game, to very little affect. Not his finest of performances but can never fault his passion for the club.

Gwion Edwards – 5

Looked the most likely to create anything for Town. In my eyes a bit of an unsung hero for Town, continually moved from position to position and very rarely let’s Lambert down.

James Norwood – 5

Lacked any real service of any sort of quality. Norwood at times can cut a very frustrated figure. Despite what I’ve seen on social media, Town are certainly a better side with Norwood playing.

Kayden Jackson- 5

Would the tie have been different if he scored his chance in the opening seconds? Possibly. Jackson missed Town’s two big chances, not really connecting to Holy’s long pass and not reaching Norwood’s teasing ball. Did set up Garbutt for lifeline, but too little too late!

Luke Garbutt – 5

Please sign him up! Made a difference in the second half and gave Town an out ball, even if not utilised enough. Got Town back into it with a back post header and nearly rescued the tie with his corner late in the day.
