Lankester: We’ve got to bounce back up straight away

Town forward Jack Lankester insists that the Town should be aiming for nothing less than promotion this season.

The Town academy product has been speaking to iFollow Ipswich about breaking into the first team, frustrations on the sideline and the targets for this season.

Meanwhile, former Town midfielder Grant Ward has been offered a deal by fellow League One side Rotherham United.

β€œI like the way he plays and his ability on the pitch. He can also play in numerous positions.

β€œHe is nowhere near being fit yet  but he is available,” Warne said to the Rotherham Advertiser. “I’ve put an offer to him and hopefully in the next couple of weeks we can come to a conclusion one way or another.”

Rotherham assistant manager Richie Barker spoke of his admiration of both released Town midfielders, Tom Adeyemi and Grant Ward, with both players previously playing for the Millers.

Ward was released by Town at the end of last season after three years at Portman Road, although he has continued to do his rehab with the Blues.
