Lambert – No news on transfers

Town boss Paul Lambert last night said that there as been no progress on any potential incomings before the deadline on 2nd September.

Lambert and Evans are targeting three players, presumably a striker, wide player and a full-back.

One player who has been linked is Colchester full back Kane Vincent-Young. When asked about any move for the versatile full-back, Lambert replied: “Someone mentioned that about that lad the other day (Vincent-Young) but I’ve not heard anything.

“I know he’s Colchester’s player and I’ve not heard anything.”

Tom Elliott who was set to join Town earlier in the month before failing a medical, is back training with Millwall. Lambert was asked if the deal is something that could be revisited.

“He’s somebody else’s player and I don’t like commenting on other people’s players,” Lambert said, when asked if the situation had changed.

“I didn’t know Tom Elliott was back in training because I’m concentrating on the lads here.

“At the moment we go with what we’ve got.”
