Lambert – Jackson’s Fitness, Tranmere’s Pitch and Bart’s Transfer

Paul Lambert has been speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash at Tranmere Rovers.

The Town boss confirmed that striker Kayden Jackson, is fit and available for the game at Prenton Park.

Jackson missed the draw at Oxford on Tuesday with concerns over a hamstring injury but Blues boss Paul Lambert says it’s good news on that front.

“Kayden will be okay. He trained yesterday,” Lambert told iFollow Ipswich.

“We had to be careful with him the other night because of the fatigue aspect and concerns over his hamstring.

“He’s been checked out though and he’s fine. He will train today and we will have a look at him but hopefully he will be okay.”

Speaking on the potential state of the pitch at Prenton Park, Lambert has insisted there will be no excuses, but just like at Oxford on Tuesday night, it will play it’s part in the game.

The pitch is covered though and with the weather set to improve, Rovers are confident it will go ahead.

“I’ve been shown pictures of the pitch and it doesn’t look good, does it?” Lambert told iFollow Ipswich.

“It is what it is though. We can’t control the weather and we’ll get on with it.

“The surface looks as though it will churn up in no time so we may have to play the conditions accordingly.

“It’s no good looking to play the ball out from the back if the pitch means we might get caught out. We will have a look when we get there and take it from there.”

Regarding any transfer news, when responding to the claims that Bialkowski will be happy to secure a permanent move at Millwall, Lambert replied: “The situation over Bart is with the two clubs,”

“It’s in Millwall’s hands. If they offer Marcus [Evans, Club owner] enough money, then I’m sure he will look at it but we will have to wait and see.”
