Lambert issues some positive injury news ahead of Oxford clash

Town boss Paul Lambert provided an update on injured full-back Kane Vincent-Young in his press conference prior to the Oxford clash.

Having already disclosed he will be without key striker James Norwood until April, Lambert issued some positive news regarding the fitness of the former Colchester man.

“He’s doing great and he’s not too far away now,” Lambert said to the Official website.

Vincent-Young, who hasn’t featured since our win at Southend in October, was back training at Playford Road this week and is set to feature in the first-team squad within the next couple of weeks.

There was further good news on Teddy Bishop and Freddie Sears, who both appeared as subs in last weeks win against Burton Albion.

“Having those two back and fully fit are massive plusses for us.” Lambert the told Official site.

“Freddie did great when he came on last week. He looked really sharp and Bish the same.

“They can be big players for us over the rest of the season. Freddie’s injury was a one off. For Bish, it’s about keeping him fit. That’s the secret. We all know his talent,  he has the ability to change games.”
