Town boss Paul Lambert has spoken about the speculation linking Town midfielder Andre Dozzell away from the Blues.

Lambert said: “Dozzell’s playing really well at the minute. I’ve not heard anything about that but if a Premier League club comes knocking then they would have to spend a helluva lot of money.

“He’s a really good footballer, the lad, he really is. He’s really technical, really good footballer. A lovely left foot, and he’s still learning the game, still developing into the game. But a really technical, very good footballer.”

Town have started negotiations to offer to a significantly better deal to secure the 20-year-old on a longer contract, ahead of interested Premier League clubs Norwich, Brighton and Crystal Palace, while AFC Bournemouth are also believed to be monitoring his situation.

It’s understood talks have been held between the two East Anglian rivals, with no official bid made at this stage. Town are understood to value Dozzell at £5m with Premier League clubs seeing his valuation at nearer £3m.
