Judge named in provisional Republic of Ireland squad

Alan Judge has been named in Republic of Ireland’s provisional squad for a UEFA Euro qualifier against Switzerland and friendly against Bulgaria.

The Boys in Green face Switzerland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Thursday, 5 September before taking on Bulgaria at the same venue five days later.

Mick McCarthy’s Ireland currently occupy top spot in qualifying group D with 10 points from four games while Switzerland sit third on four points from two games.

Alan will be looking to add to his tally of six caps for his national side, in which he has scored once.

Should the Blues midfielder be named in the final squad, he will join up with his international teammates on 1 September.
