Jackson: An incredible moment
Kayden Jackson described his last-gasp winner over AFC Wimbledon as an incredible moment and admitted that had Blues not won the game, it would have been a huge disappointment for the Club.
Wimbledon led at half-time having broken the deadlock four minutes before the break, but two goals from Town in the last nine minutes saw Portman Road erupt as Paul Lambert’s side snatched all three points under the lights.
Jackson proved the match winner as he latched on to a looping pass from Cole Skuse before rifling the ball home in front of the Sir Bobby Robson stand deep into stoppage time.
“Purely based on our ambitions for the season, I think had we not won that game it would have been a huge disappointment,” Jackson told iFollow Ipswich.
“With all respect to AFC Wimbledon we have to be winning home games like that so it feels very good to say we got the job done.
“It felt even better out there at the time but we are obviously still buzzing. It really was an incredible moment and those points could be massive come the end of the campaign.
“We have a lot of games coming up so it’s really important we take momentum from tonight into those matches. That starts with the trip to Bolton on Saturday.”
