Exclusive: Levi Andoh speaks to TOTT about his move to Town
Ipswich Town’s latest signing Levi Andoh has spoken exclusively to TOTT about his move to Town, what we can expect from him and his targets in a Town shirt. Town announced on Friday that they have agreed a deal for defender Levi Andoh when the window reopens in January.
TOTT took the opportunity to welcome Levi to Ipswich and asked how the trial with Town came about: “I was playing for Solihull United under Sam Manoochehri. I got spotted by my agent and in no time I was on trail with Ipswich.” Andoh replied.
“I was at Aston Villa from the age of nine up until fourteen, but after being released I turned to non-league level. I was in Canada due to being picked up by a Scout and spent a couple months playing overseas where I matured and improved on my game.”
The 19-year-old has featured for Blues’ U23s this season impressing against Cardiff U23s, assisting two goals for Town from the right-back role. Andoh can play anywhere across the back line, but right-back isn’t his favourite position: “My favoured position is centre-half, although I enjoy playing right- back due to my attacking sense and I can get forward more often”.
Andoh has signed an eighteen month contract with Ipswich, with the aim of breaking into the first-team: “My target is to break into the first team, I will work as hard as possible to do so. The lads have been great and I already feel welcomed and looking forward to getting started.”
