Bart has “huge chance” of facing Burton in opener
Town boss, Paul Lambert remained surprisingly upbeat about the chances of keeper Bartosz Bialkowski reaming at Town.
We reported that Millwall had agreed a fee with Town, rumoured around a million pound, last week. We also understand the the Pole has completed a medical, however the keeper has been at Playford Road for both pre-season sessions this week.
Speaking at his press conference today, Lambert was asked about if Bart would be in goal come 3rd August opener at Burton Albion: “Listen, absolutely. There’s a massive chance, a huge chance.
“I’ve never thought anything else. It never really worried me what’s going on.
“We had a chat at the end of the season. He’s a good guy, no problem.
“Until somebody says there is a massive amount of money on the table…”
When asked about if he knew of interest in Bart, Lambert replied: “No… I’ve just come back from holiday. I had a chat with him yesterday. I know Millwall were interested and everything that’s going on. Other than that I don’t know.
“He’s our player and he’s training with us this morning, unless he’s got a body double. I’m sure it’s Bart that’s here.”
